Electric operation
Electric trains are often considered where quieter local operation is important. Charging time, electrical supply, battery chemistry, temperature, route duty and backup plans must be confirmed together.
Diesel operation
Diesel may suit long daily duty cycles or sites with limited charging. Fuel management, emissions, noise, maintenance capability and local rules remain part of the assessment.
Route first
Passenger demand, slope, stopping frequency, climate and actual duty determine the useful configuration. Final selection should follow a route survey and current model sheet.
